Hey guys,
I'm back after a long, long break with a makeup tutorial for a smoky eye. For this I'll be using my new baby aka the new Urban Decay Naked Smokey Palette for which I'll be doing review soon. I hope you enjoy.
Base:
I started by priming my face with the BeautyBay.com foundation primer. I applied a small amount all over my face with my finger tips in order to create a smooth base for my foundation and to make my makeup more long lasting.
Next I applied a generous amount of my L'Oreral Infallible 24H Matte foundation all over my face. I blended it in with the Zoeva 104 Buffer brush in a patting motion in order to achieve the fullest coverage possible.
To cover my dark circles I used the Ereser Eye concealer from Maybelline. I blended it in with my fingertips as the warmth of the hands makes the product blend into the skin better.
To set everything in place I used the Stay Matte powder from Rimmel. I applied this with my Real Techniques Powder brush and I pressed the powder on rather than drag it across the face in order to avoid moving the products underneath it.
Contour
As this is a more dramatic evening look, I opted for a stronger contour. I applied a generous amount of the Ultra Bronze bronzer from Makeup Revolution to my cheekbones, forehead and jaw line with the Zoeva 109 Luxe Face Paint brush .
For my blush I used the Makeup Revolution Blush and Contour palette from which I chose a dusty pink shade. I applied this to the apples of my cheeks with the Zoeva126 Luxe Cheek Finish brush
To add some glow and highlight I used the other side of the same brush with which I applied the Mary Lou-manizer from The Balm to the top of my cheekbones, the bridge of my nose and my Cupid's bow.
Eyes
Next I filled in my brows quite strongly with the Zoeva 322 Brown Line brush and shade 327 from Inglot.
To create my eyeshadow look I used the new Urban Decay Naked Smokey Palette
To start off I gently defined my crease with the shade Combust and the MAC 217 brush.
Next I used the shade Password which I blended over the previous shade. I extended it quite far out into a V shape and I used the Zoeva 228 Luxe Crease brush to do this.
I also applied the same shade with the Zoeva 226 Smudger brush along my lower lash line in order to make the eyes more smoky and avoid them looking top heavy.
To deepen the outer V of my eyes I used the shade Black Heart ( despite the name it's a dark grey) and a pointed blending brush.
On my lid I applied the shade Smolder with the Zoeva 234 Luxe Smoky Shader brush.
Since the colour didn't stand out enough for my liking I used the same brush to apply the shade Slanted over the top of it.
I also went back and further deepened my crease with the shades I used previously.
To highlight my inner corner I used the shade High with a small shader brush.
I also highlighed my brow bone with the shade Thirteen.
Off camera I applied some black gel liner from L'Oreal to create a winged eyeliner look. Then I applied a thin coat of the NYC Volume by Lash Mascara.
To add more drama to the eyes, I applied the Define false eyelashes from PS Love (Primark brand).
Lips
I outlined my lips with a lipliner from Essence in the colour 08 Red Blush. I then filled in my lips with the shade Reckless from Makeup Revolution.
Finished Look:
I hope that you like this look and that you'll try it for yourselves. I'll see you in my next post.
Mollie
