Review: Make Up Factory Mat Lip Fluid 61 Velvet Rosewood

Hey Beauties!

This is a long overdue review of a product that I got in a giveaway on Sanja's blog. Whenever I posted wearing it on Instagram or in my previous makeup looks, everyone seemed to really like it. I'll finally tell you more about it.

It's called Mat Lip Fluid and it should be intensive, long lasting color with matte finish. It comes in a lip gloss plastic tube. It has silver details and black top. The plastic is transparent, so you can see the shade. I think it costs something around 14€ and in it is 6.5 ml of product. I believe it's only sold in Müller stores.

It's not the regular applicator. This one has a slight rounded cut on the bottom to fit lips better. It creates a perfect angle for application, so you don't need to put applicator horizontally on the lips. In that little round part there's quite a lot of product in it, which means you can almost apply you're whole lip with one swipe. If you're like me and you try to perfect every little corner and also make it a bit thicker, you'll need to dip in one more time.

It's a very creamy and highly pigmented lip product. It goes on smooth and it's actually pretty wet, but thick. You have small amount of play time - approximately 3 minutes. The applicator can create perfect edges. If you're applicator is a bit too loaded with product and you push on the lips too hard, you might create stronger outer line, which almost looks like lip liner. I would advise you to work slowly and when you have less product on the applicator go to the sides, so that the edge is not as obvious. That's if you like it too look more natural. Application can look a bit uneven, depending on how you apply it and how much of it. It's nothing concerning you just have to apply it neatly.

I find that it is a bit sticky. maybe that's because I use thicker layer on my lips. So puckering up your lips is not a good idea with that one. The stickiness goes away with time, because it gets drier and drier. It feels a bit heavy on the lips.

Once this sets it does not move. I mean it! You can't wipe it off, so be careful with application. It's really long lasting. I would say you can wear it for the whole day and it would still look great. However, it didn't survive survive a meal. It went off on the inner edges of my lips.

The finish really is matte. That sickening completely matte finish. As you'll be able to see on my lips it accentuates lip lines and obviously any dry patches, so exfoliating before the use is crucial.

It has plastic artificial smell, which disappears once you apply it.

Shade 61 Velvet Rosewood is warm brownish mauve. It's actually really dark on my skin tone, but looks a bit lighter on the actual photos.

I compared it with similar shades in my collection and it's actually unique. I have nothing that could pass as a dupe. Nothing is as dark warm and such a unique mix of mauve and brown. Avon 3D Plumping Lipstick Divine Wine is a lot more purple toned, Bourjois Rouge Edition 12 Hours 33 is light and very peachy toned and Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter 96 Macaroon is even lighter and peachier.

I have naturally dry lips and this definitely dries them out a bit. I would say it's not the best for for those with dry lips, but perfect for those that like completely matte finish and long lasting power.

I also used this product in two of my makeup looks. Green and Red Christmas Makeup and Silver Metallic Eyes With Mauve Lips.

It does what it says on the packaging. It's a highly pigmented, creamy liquid lipstick that dries quickly and doesn't move. It's very long lasting and has perfect completely matte finish. A dream come true for matte lovers and I kind of think it's way better than Bourjois Rouge Velvets in terms of being a proper matte finish. For me personally, it's too drying, but I adore the shade. It's such a nice mix of brown and mauve and the fact that it's warm makes it perfect in my eyes. This is definitely a statement lip for me. It's worth checking out, if you're all about that completely matte lip.

Sanja also did a review of it here. Go check out why she likes it so much.
